John Frieda 3-Day Straight

Hey Ladies,

Since I am now doing my 'straighteners ration' of once a week I thought I would give this a go. It is the last product I bought before my spending ban. I thought that I could use this on the one day a week I will be straightening my hair and it would last me up to 3 days.

I usually wash my hair every second day as it is quite dry hair anyway but by day 2 it could do with a wash. I never ever blow dry my hair because I am crap at it and it makes me feel a little less guilty about heat damage when straightening if I at least skip the blow dry section.

So what do John Frieda Say?

This is a semi-permanent styling spray. Transform curly, frizzy hair into a straight, smooth style that lasts up to 3 days - or until you next wash your hair if that is sooner. Revolutionary new heat activated formula with keratin protein wraps each strand to seal in longer lasting straightness without weighing down. Protects against head damage and blocks frizz.

My Opinion....

I have considerably frizzy hair. I will have it lovely and straight at night and then sleep on it and wake up with odd waves and bits sticking out where it was perfect the night before. Also by the morning the frizz will have returned and my hair will be quite voluminous towards the ends of the hair.

I washed my hair on Friday evening in my usual way but I did not put any leave in conditioner or any of my normal sprays in after I washed it. I left it to sit in a towel for a few minutes and then sectioned it spraying each section from the bottom to the top of my head. I used about 15 sprays - as directed on the box. I have very very thick hair (so every hairdresser I have ever been to has told me) so you may need less.

I brushed it through and let it dry naturally. I then straightened it as normal when it was fully dry, sectioning it off and straightening from the bottom to the top. My first impressions were very good. Even though I had not used a conditioning treatment, had not used my leave in conditioner spray and had not used my heat defence spray, my hair had a lovely shine to it and was poker straight. There was no sign of frizz and even my fringe (which is a nightmare as I am growing it out) sat perfectly. My hair even looked longer.

So then we had the over night challenge. I woke up on Saturday morning and my hair was still straight... frizz free and shiny. Here is a pic of Saturday. Please excuse my face :) Normally the ends would be half turned in half out and the layer above would have a wave in it like it had been stuck behind my ear.

So it was like this all day and I was delighted. I wasn't holding much faith in it being quite as good on Sunday though. I popped on a bit of Batiste that night and hoped for the best.

I woke up Sunday and to be honest to my surprise my hair was almost exactly the same although it did look slightly thinner and the ends might have been a little askew but normally on the second day of my wash my hair is bunged up in a teeny tiny pony tail with bits sticking in all directions so I was delighted with the results - I did however forget to take a pic :(

So popped in some more batiste on Sunday night and woke up this morning with it still as straight and frizz free as the first two days. I did have to put it up today though because it was starting to show signs of needing a wash but I had the cutest little pony tail because it was still straight.

So really what I am trying to say is this is some really good stuff. If you are like me and have unruly hair I would say pick this up. I paid around €10.00 in boots for it but I think @Leannemariexo mentioned on twitter that Boots are now doing 2 for £7.50 or something similar on John Frieda so it is definitely worth a look.

On a side note I just want to make a comment on my Batiste. I was so excited when I saw that Batiste had brought out a black version of their dry shampoo because I have to use it at night due to the white/grey way the regular one makes my black hair look but unfortunately it didn't live up to my expectations take a look :(

Anywho hope you have enjoyed
